Dry Feet

Dry Feet – The Main Causes and Ways to Help Fix It

Having dry feet, or just dry skin in general, isn’t necessarily a terrible medical condition to have to deal with, but it can be rather irritating and bothersome.  Cracked skin on your foot also isn’t the most appealing thing to look at either.  Having the skin on feet start to crack is usually the biggest reason why people want to remedy their dry skin, as having a cracked heel (heel fissure) can continue to escalate and worsen over time if not treated.  Having cracked skin on your feet is really more a nuisance at first than anything else, but as the skin cracks start to deepen, it can become very painful.  If left untreated, the cracks can even lead to an infection.

So who is at the most risk for suffering from dry feet and having their skin start to crack as a result?  Well, anyone can, actually.  It doesn’t matter if you are an athlete who is regularly active or just someone who does a little walking here and there, nobody is immune from having dry skin on their feet.  Athletes are certainly more at risk for ending up with painful cracking on their feet, but they are definitely not the only group of people that can be stricken with this foot condition.

There are a number of factors that can lead to someone suffering from dry feet.  More often than not, dry skin is brought about due to a number of different environmental factors.  These factors are usually able to be controlled and changed, such as showering or bathing way too much or using soaps that are too harsh on the skin.  Other times, the factors cannot be controlled and there is not really anything you can do about them.  These uncontrollable factors include being exposed to weather that is either too hot or too cold or you might live in an area with humidity levels that are much lower than normal.

Perhaps the biggest reason why you should try to avoid dry feet is because it most often will lead to the skin cracking on your feet.  Depending on how deep these cracks go, this is either a non-issue or it can become a very painful situation.  Your best line of defense against having this happen to you is to take proper care of your feet.  There are a number of products out there to help you with this task, but your best bet is to get our Pro Therapy Foot Treatment which is a foot cream with a moisturizing agent and use it regularly.
